New trees in National Tree Week 2023

We’re delighted that in collaboration with Trees for Seaford we completed the planting of three new trees on 2nd December. They have been planted on the bank side of the pond to replace some of the trees the Council were forced to fell as they were diseased and unsafe.

Trees for Seaford have generously donated a fastigiate birch, a hawthorn and a winter flowering cherry for this area. They worked with our Pond volunteers to plant them and protect them with stakes and wire cages. Coffee and cakes were eaten to celebrate!

Dan from Trees for Seaford gives the pond volunteers a masterclass in how to protect the new trees with stakes and a wire mesh cage

The Committee and volunteers at the pond would like to thank Trees for Seaford for the donation of the three lovely and very good-sized trees, and their help in planting them.
